Company History

The Redstone Companies (TRC) is a Houston based, privately held development and investment firm. Over the past twenty-five years, TRC has invested both private and institutional capital in assets with an aggregate value of over $1.4 billion.

The TRC portfolio has included over $700 million in hospitality assets and over $350 million in commercial real estate. In addition, TRC has invested in companies with aggregate values in excess of $400 million in sectors such as energy, food service, homebuilding, multifamily development, banking, and financial services companies ranging from commercial leasing to mortgages.

TRC believes a common theme across all its investments, and a key factor to its historical and continued success, is the firm’s adherence to identifying and improving value. As each year passes, TRC’s experience and capabilities deepen as a result of its continued commitment to a value-oriented strategy.

TRC was formed in the late 1980s, to capitalize on the struggling economy’s effects on properties that otherwise showed growth potential in their long-term value. From the outset, the company demonstrated remarkable strengths in identifying, acquiring, recapitalizing and refurbishing underperforming assets. Redstone then installed management teams to turn the businesses around with great success.
Today, TRC is strategically focused on real estate acquisitions, development and growth opportunities. Notable TRC real estate projects have included BBVA Compass Plaza, The Redstone Building, Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa, Hyatt Regency Town Lake, Hilton Dallas/Rockwall, and Hilton Westchase. Strategic locations and first-class development are the hallmarks of TRC’s Real Estate investment strategy
